About Us

Why the Guilds?

The Catholic Professionals Guilds is a network of all Catholic Professionals. During the 2nd Synod of the Archdiocese of Accra it was established that the Church in Accra needed more of the influence of Professionals from the various sectors therefore it was agreed that the existing Professionals Guilds be revamped and new ones formed.

We bring together Catholic professionals from all walks of life, fostering spiritual growth, mentorship, and professional excellence. Rooted in Catholic values, we provide a platform for building meaningful relationships, sharing expertise, and making a positive impact in our workplaces, communities, and beyond.

Our Misson

To identify and facilitate the establishment and growth of professional guilds in accordance with the catholic faith and to the benefit of the members of the guilds, the Church’s mission and society at large.

Our Vision

Welcome Message From the Coordinator

“There is so much need today for mature Christian personalities, conscious of their baptismal identity, of their vocation and mission in the Church and in the world!” —St. John Paul II, May 30, 1998. Never before in the history of the Church has the absolutely essential role of the layperson been so dramatically emphasized as it is now. Particularly since Vatican II, the Church has called for a renewal in the life and role of the laity. In the Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity, APOSTOLICAM ACTUOSITATEM, we are told “the apostolate of the laity derives from our Christian vocation and the Church can never be without it. Our own times require of the laity no less zeal: in fact, modern conditions demand that our apostolate be broadened and intensified. With a constantly increasing population, continual progress in science and technology, and closer interpersonal relationships, the areas for the lay apostolate have been immensely widened. These factors have also occasioned new problems which demand our expert attention and study. An indication of this manifold and pressing need is the unmistakable work being done today by the Holy Spirit in making us the laity ever more conscious of our own responsibility and encouraging us to serve Christ and the Church in all circumstances.” It is for these reasons that we come together to form a strong solid force in order to build our Church and thus our motto: “TOGETHER WE BUILD OUR CHURCH”. Currently, 14 of these guilds have been identified and this number, it is hoped, will keep increasing as more professionals are identified and placed in specific groups. Welcome and God bless you.
